Courtship

A mutual friend of ours (Mike's classmate and Stacey's neighbor), Sean O'Donnell, set us up on a blind date. It was almost time for Senior Prom at Notre Dame and Sean decided Mike should take Stacey as his date. We first met on May 5, 1995. It was a double date with Sean and his then-girlfriend. We went to the movies at the Arnot Mall (because what else is there to do in Elmira?) and saw While You Were Sleeping.

And so it began. We went to the prom a month later and continued dating through the summer until it was time for Mike to leave for college. While Mike spent that fall semester at the University of Miami, Stacey was finishing up senior year at Athens. Daily phone calls and letters lead to Mike transferring closer to home and he started at Niagara University that Spring.

After Stacey's graduation that June, Mike proposed. Another two years went by before we were married, during which we kept busy with classes and work. We also took several trips to Florida, Toronto, and NYC to see the sights.

Finally we set the date for August 8, 1998, which is why this site exists in the first place!
